Vía Verde Del Noroeste Consorcio Turístico

Tourist Consortium of the Northwest Greenway was created as an instrumental Public Entity, for the Technical, Economic and Administrative Cooperation of the “Via Verde del Noroeste” and the municipalities involved.

The Consortium is composed by the Council of Culture and Tourism of the Murcia Region and the municipalities of Murcia, Molina de Segura, Alguazas, Campos del Río, Albudeite, Mula, Bullas, Cehegín y Caravaca de la Cruz.

The organization promotes:

  • Sustainable tourism and active mobility (cycling and hiking)
  • Reuse of abandoned railway infrastructure
  • Environmental protection and landscape enhancement
  • Rural development and local economic activity
  • Accessible outdoor recreation for residents and visitors

The Vía Verde del Noroeste is a long-distance greenway in the Region of Murcia, Spain, created by converting a former railway line into a cycling and walking route of about 76–78 km between Murcia and Caravaca de la Cruz. It follows the historic Murcia–Caravaca railway (1930s–1970s), now repurposed as a Camino Natural for non-motorized users.
