Diputación Provincial de Jaén

Agricultura, Ganadería, Medio Ambiente y Cambio Climático

Diputación Provincial de Jaén is the provincial government authority for the province of Jaén in Andalusia, Spain coordinating services for the province’s 97 municipalities, many of which are small rural towns. The Provincial Council of Jaén promotes, manages, and maintains the Guadalimar, Renacimiento and Aceite Greenways, which were built within the framework of the “Camino Natural” Program developed by the successive ministries responsible for environment and agriculture.

In the province of Jaén there are 4 greenways, a number that is expected to increase in the future with the construction of new greenways and the signage of some railway branches that have already been adapted in Linares. These are routes that pass through rural landscapes of great natural beauty and connect towns and cities that possess a rich historical and cultural heritage. The greenways invite people from Jaén and visitors to discover these tourist resources through hiking and cycling. They offer an active and attractive way to enjoy the landscapes and the excellent cuisine based on olive oil that the province of Jaén has to offer. These are safe routes where motor vehicles are not allowed, encouraging non-polluting mobility and active leisure for citizens. In addition, it is possible to access the Aceite, Linares, and Guadalimar Greenways by train, a highly sustainable means of transport for travel.
