Yugo Cycling Campaign

The Yugo Cycling Campaign (YCC) promotes cycling as everyday transport and tourism infrastructure, with a strong focus on transforming the Western Balkans into a connected “greenways” region. The organization especially advocates for converting abandoned railway corridors into cycling and walking routes across former Yugoslav countries. The NGO, based in Belgrade, that plays a central role in the Western Balkans Greenways initiative.

The organization’s mission includes:

  • Promoting cycling for daily mobility, recreation, and tourism (not competitive sport)
  • Developing greenways (safe, non-motorized routes like rail trails)
  • Supporting environmental protection and sustainable transport
  • Improving urban cycling infrastructure and traffic culture
  • Encouraging youth education and cycling adoption
  • Integrating bicycles into public transport systems and city planning
