Generalitat Valenciana –  General Directorate of Infrastructures and urban projects / Dirección general de Infraestructuras y proyectos urbanos

The Servicio de Proyectos y Obras (Projects and Works Service) is a technical department of the Generalitat Valenciana, the regional government of the Valencian Community in Spain. It operates under the Directorate General for Land Transport Infrastructure within the regional ministry responsible for environment, infrastructure, territory, and recovery.

The department’s primary role is to plan, design, and oversee public infrastructure projects. Its responsibilities include preparing basic and construction projects for public infrastructure and urban developments, producing technical documentation, and carrying out environmental assessments and public consultation procedures. It also coordinates with other public administrations and entities during project development.

The Valencian Community (Comunitat Valenciana) has one of Spain’s most extensive regional networks of greenways, with around 170–190 km of routes spread across approximately 11–13 Greenways. The Greenways of the Valencian Community combine railway heritage, natural landscapes, and sustainable tourism. They connect mountains, orchards, rivers, and the Mediterranean coast, offering safe, traffic-free routes that attract hikers, cyclists, and nature lovers while supporting local economies and preserving cultural heritage.
