The European Greenways Association already counts on the support of about thirty members through Europe and tries to extend its partners network to establish its expertise and develop projects. The nature of the members is very various, we gather national, regional or local institutions (Ministries, Junior Minister’s office, Regions, Provinces, Municipalities…) as well as cycling and walking associations, transnational organizations, foundations, public transport, ecological or cultural associations.

A new system regarding membership fees was adopted in November 2004 in order to offer participation to the association’s activities in the most democratic way.
We have three types of membres : full members, supporting members and honorary members.
The full members actively participate to the daily management of the association. They have a full voting right at the General Assembly and have the possibility to be represented within the Steering Committee. Full members compose themselves into three colleges. Each college designates a maximum of four representatives to sit at the Executive Committee.
The supporting members benefit from the EGWA services but only have a consultative vote. They compose themselves into four colleges. The first three colleges have the same characteristics as the colleges 1, 2 and 3 of the full members, the fourth one is made up with private companies (known as “partners”).
The honourary members, designated by the General Assembly, have a consultative vote.
Composition of the colleges :
College 1: the college of ministries, semi-public bodies and regions,and their representative associations;
College 2: the college of national public institutions, national public foundations, départements, provinces, local communities, and their representative associations;
College 3: the college of non-profit associations and individual members;
College 4: the college of private companies (“partner companies”, only for supporting members)
