» Greenways: the spanish experience. REVER project. - 29/03/2005

Carmen Aycart Luengo, member of our association for the Fundación de los Ferrocariles Españoles, describes the creation and evolution of the Programa Vías Verdes (Greenways Program), these last twelve years in Spain.

 

She tackles the differents steps of the Programme: the inventory of disused railways, the reallocation of these railways and its heritage, the communication and the promotion, everything  richly illustrated by detailed facts and figures.

 

The article concludes on the international development of greenways through REVER MED and AMNO projects.
